National competition was intense, we faced top notch talent; however, our team did not waver and turned in a great performance. Our team was focused, prepared and emerged with a third place victory. We are very proud of our national team they represented us in a very professional way. Needless to say, they had a great time and enjoyed themselves to the fullest! Rubí Martinez and Patricia Hinojosa continue their quest for a national title next year. We do have to bid farewell to our seniors Cynthia "Cindy" Hernandez and George Echeverria. We will miss you dearly! Congratulations to Cindy and George, who prior to leaving for nationals, they were hired by "The Collegian, at the University of Brownsville/Texas Southmost College" Cindy was hired as reporter and George was hired as the online news editor for their broadcast news program. Again, congratulations guys as always, you make us proud! A huge congratulations also goes to all of our student interns! They're always making Gladys Porter High school and The Brownsville Independent School District proud. On the left we have pictures of our national team prior to lift off. We now set our sights to the new year which will begin on August 25, 2008. Reminder to all students looking forward to competition this coming year.
